NI ROCs Consultation released

The widely anticipated consultation document outlining proposed changes to the Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) banding levels for onshore wind turbines up to 5MW, Solar PV up to 250kW, Anaerobic Digestion up to 5MW and Hydro up to 5MW has been released. The main changes are outlined below which, if approved, will come into effect on 1st April 2015

As the table shows, there are major changes to Solar PV. However, there are no proposed changes for Onshore Wind, Anaerobic Digestion or Hydro.

It is worth noting that these banding levels are proposed changes and are therefore subject to change. The consultation document is available to download from the DETI website here.

The GreenYard will be drawing up a consultation response on this ROCs review and we would actively encourage everyone with an interest in the review to do likewise. Consultation responses must be sent to DETI by 25th September 2014.
